Good Morning!
I hope this morning finds you well on this second day of February. We have six weeks until spring and I am looking forward to the warmer weather, as everyone else probably is.
I have been battling a bout of Neuropathy that does not have a specific reason for existing, at least the battery of tests did not come up with one. I'm optimistic about being nearer to the top of the hill in this battle, but it may be ongoing. I have gone from barely being able to walk, to using a cane, that I am now able to take a few steps without now and then. Pool therapy has been the only thing to really help me make progress and I am determined to continue progress.
I am cutting back on carbs this year, making a gradual move to cutting them out. I am trying to make the change in a way that I hope I will be able to stay with it. Once I can stand for more than ten minutes without too much pain, and am able to walk through a store more than once without pain that takes me off my feet, I hope to try increasing that walking. The Neurologist hasn't been keen on adding that on top of pool therapy, but I am hoping to get a green light at my next visit.
I just received all of my HOLT award books to read for the next month or two and I will be diving into them this week and giving feedback.
In my knitting world, I made several projects for Christmas and just in general. Since I entered the Fair Isle men's underwear in the fair last year I have been planning a women's pair, they are both destined for framing and hanging in my bathroom. I received a second place prize on the garment, it was called a staff favorite at the fair, and one of my friends said it was talked about at the Stockinette Zombie Retreat this past year.
I am starting the womens pair this week, hope to have them finished soon.
Here a re a few photos of some of my projects this past year.
The Purple silk Poncho for Jessica
Men's Fair Isle undergarment
Tyler's Death star hat
Aviator hat for shop
These are just a few photos, many of my pictures are not on the computer.
I finished a cotton Cardigan for my self and a baby sweater for a niece this week, but no photos yet.
I will post more pictures as I get them uploaded.
Our knitting groups annual knitting retreat is not going to happen this spring, we are working on something for the fall at a new venue and we are excited about the possibilities of this change. More on that latere as well.
For now, keep those needles clicking and Happy Stitching Trails!
